In addition to the planned road, shading regulations, and absolute height restrictions, the project was planned under more stringent conditions than usual, including restrictions on form due to the high-voltage lines crossing the site and the free-use open space required by Yokohama City ordinances. The exterior of the building was designed to be massive and rhythmical, with a stone-grain decorative finish in earth tones that evoke the image of a newly rising hill on the planned site. Facing the road on the north side of the site, a greenway was created as a rich approach space leading to the entrance, using the free-use vacant lot open to the community. The common-use building, which is independent from the residential building, is designed to be used for various events and interactions with residents in the neighborhood, and all the sash windows can be opened wide enough to be used both inside and outside, improving convenience.
