Shomonji Temple　Shuryou

SHURYO is a building in a Zen temple where ascetic monks sleep.
Each person is assigned a space of the size of a tatami mat,and a maximum of four people train themselves together there.
The building is made of natural materials such as Japanese cypress and plaster,

with a simple design that eliminates waste and makes the space suitable for ascetic training.
